My Perfect Winter Wardrobe

A Classic Black Coat : A good quality classic black coat can last you years. I always have a black coat and they usually last me a good 2-3 years as I always get a style that won't go out of fashion for a few years. I love plain coats with not too many details so I can dress them up with a fur collar.

Metallic Jumper : You can't go wrong with a metallic knit jumper in the Winter, even if they are not a top trend that season, they are perfect for Christmas day or Winter shopping trips and a bit more glam than a normal jumper.

Chunky Jumpers : A little obvious but a nice quality knit jumper is essential for the Winter. I love cable knit, grey and aztec patterned jumpers this year. Team with jeans and a nice coat with ankle boots for the perfect look.

Fedora : A lovely accessory to dress up any outfit or cover a bad hair day. I adore fedoras and would have one in every colour but blood red & rust are lovely for Winter.

Snood / Scarf : Of course we all like to keep warm when it's cold outside so find the perfect scarf and you won't go cold! I currently love snoods as you get no annoying end bits hanging down and they are so warm especially the extra long ones you can wrap around a few times! I'm also a sucker for a lovely patterned shawl, perfect for travelling as they double up as a blanket!

Ankle Boots : I am a big lover of ankle boots, they go with everything! A classic pair of black ankle boots will serve you well over the Winter months and can be worn with jeans, dresses, skirts, day and night! I love wearing my ankle boots with metallic knit socks underneath for some texture.

Little Black Dress : I recently got a black wrap dress and wish I'd got one sooner, they are so versatile and easy to wear. I love wearing mine with tights, waist belt, ankle boots and a big coat with a fur collar.

Black Skinny Jeans : Another obvious one but black skinny jeans are my wardrobe essential, they go with everything and if you're stuck for something to wear you can always go for black jeans and build your outfit around them.

Sequin Mini Skirt : A perfect Winter item, can be worn in the day with a jumper and biker boots or for a party with heels and a top. I love sequins in the Winter, day or night, they add a bit of sparkle to any outfit.

Little Black Dress

Dress - Boohoo
Belt - Primark
Boots - eBay
Jacket - Primark

I've been looking for a little black dress I can wear day and night for ages but dresses tend to make me look young due to my height or lack of. I decided on a wrap dress and found this one for £15 at Boohoo. It's really versatile and can be dressed up and down. I went for this belt I picked up from Primark to add a bit of sparkle along with the jacket. This was actually a day outfit I wore for a bit of Christmas shopping but you can dress it down more with flats or chunky boots and a cardigan or dress it up with platforms and a leather or sequin jacket for a party or drinks night.

Do you have a favourite little black dress?!

Wishlist

Boots - Ever Ours
Skirt - eBay
Michael Kors Watch
Hat - The Native State
Sunglasses - ASOS

Just a few things on my wishlist at the moment.

I'm loving these Lita copies from Ever Ours and at £25 you can't go wrong!

I fell in love with this sequin skirt when it was on Miss Guided but it sold out so quickly, luckily I found it on eBay so I'll probably be getting it soon. Perfect for Christmas coming up.

I'm still wanting a Michael Kors watch, I haven't actually owned a watch for years so it would be nice to have a lovely one. I may spend my Christmas money on this.

I adore this hat from Lovely Bird but it's a little expensive and pretty similar to one I already have. Anyway I just love the navajo print on it!

These sunglasses are so much like Ray Ban Wayfarer's and only £12, I've had them in my ASOS wishlist for so long, I better get them purchased soon!!

A Rare Sight

Coat - Vintage
Tee - Amplified

Boots - eBay
Bag - River Island
Belt - ASOS
Earrings - Primark

I am now the proud owner of a new pair of boots. I'm sure if you follow my blog you will have seen my Topshop Ambush boots in pretty much every post for the past year, and you will no doubt see them again, but I decided it was time to get something new. I came across these lovely boots on eBay and since I've wanted a pair of tan boots for a while I thought why not? They were a bargain £25 and are pretty comfy for a pair of eBay boots I must say. If you're after a pair of boots there are some awesome ones on eBay, I just typed in studded ankle boots and had to choose between about 7 pairs!

Today I have my hair up which is a very rare sight, I much prefer my hair down but today I looked like the wild man of borneo so it was the only option! I spent the day in town getting a few xmas presents, managed to sort quite a bit of xmas shopping which I'm pleased about and I now only have two people to buy for, accomplishment!

Until the next time...!

So this is my first proper outfit post since I moved in with my boyfriend, I was a little embarrassed doing these photos outside as there are so many houses around and I always feel like someone is watching me but I'm glad to be back with a new OOTD.

I picked up this jumper in Primark for £6 a few days ago and I love it, it's a lovely fine knit and is so useful for this time of year. I'm sure you're all so bored of seeing me wear these boots for the past year none stop so you'll be pleased to know I have some new boots ordered that are not black and are not called Ambush, they are pretty much the same shape though, what can I say?!

Incase you are wondering my nails are imPRESS in Tweetheart (glitter is Technic in Carnival) which you can get from Boots and Superdrug, they are fantastic for a quick manicure and have lasted me 9 days so far, the box says up to 7 days so I'm happy with that. I would definitely recommend them for a special occasion, I'm going to get them in black for Christmas and New Year!

When I reach 200 followers I will be having a giveaway so please spread the word about my blog, I would really appreciate it!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Beautiful Dixi Pieces

These beautiful pieces from Dixi were waiting for me when I got home today. I fell in love with the rainbow druzy ring as soon as I saw it and there was only one available so I snapped it up, it's just as beautiful in person and is now my new favourite ring! I also got the Native Bull necklace which I love and I think will not leave my neck very often!! I'll definitely be buying more jewellery from Dixi in the future. If you like unique jewellery go and check them out here.

Birthday OOTD

It was my 26th birthday yesterday, yes 26, where the hell did those years go?! I spent the day with my boyfriend, mum and gran in Nottingham, we had dinner at the pub including amazing cheesecake and did a little bit of shopping before me and my mum went to watch the Real Techniques event at Boots with the amazing Samantha Chapman from Pixiwoo! She did a smokey eye demo before answering peoples questions about make up and I got a photo with her and my brush box signed, total fangirl moment haha!! She was lovely, nice was to spend my birthday!!

Coat - Limited Collection @ M&S (birthday present)

Hope you've all had a lovely week too!

Casual

Hey everyone, I'm so sorry for the hiatus yet again, I'm such a bad blogger! I promise I'm gonna at least try to do some outfit posts this Winter!

I saw this jacket on the amazing Lily @ LLYMRS a few months ago and fell in love so when I saw it in my local Primark for £10 I had to grab it. It looks so much more expensive than a Primark jacket as well and is perfect for bringing in the metallics trend this season. I love the leather lapels too! You can easily dress this jacket up or down.

This outfit it pretty casual but the jacket adds a bit of spice to it which I love!

Jacket - Primark
Jeans - Topshop

Boots - Topshop
Belt - ASOS

Until next time, which hopefully won't be too long, have fun!!

Disco Pants - Day to Night

A couple of weeks ago I finally got the imfamous American Apparel Disco Pants. I'd bought a couple of dupes and they were fab but I still wanted the real thing. I used a 10% discount code for ASOS and got them for £63, probably the most I've spent on an item of clothing (not including shoes/boots). I think they are worth every penny, they are gorgeous and more versatile than I thought. I've mainly worn them in the day which I didn't expect and a couple of times at night. Today's post is a little different to my usual, I'm going to show you 2 outfits, one for the day and one for the night, both including the lovely disco pants.

Day

In the day I would wear my disco pants with something casual as they can look very dressed up. I would want to cover up my bum in the day as they are pretty revealing (a thong is also needed to prevent VPL!) so I'd go for a longer top like a blouse & long cardigan or a chunky knit jumper with my favourite boots from Topshop.

Disco Pants - American Apparel
Blouse - New Look
Cardigan - Primark
Boots - Topshop
Hat - Primark
Necklace - Topman

Night

For the night I'd go a little more glam. I'd go for a blouse again, this time maybe tying it at the front to reveal the high waist, and go for a different pair of boots like these ancient red Topshop boots and a fedora. You could also wear a sheer blouse with an embellished bra underneath and platforms.

Disco Pants - American Apparel
Blouse - Primark
Bolo Tie - River Island
Boots - Topshop (many moons ago)
Hat - Select

What do you think of AA Disco Pants? Do you prefer the real thing or the dupes? x

Cosy Jumper

Jumper - Primark
Disco Pants - American Apparel
Scarf - Primark (old)
Hat - Dorothy Perkins

I got this jumper from Primark last week and I love it. It was £10 and it's so soft and snuggly. I think they have definitely improved their knitwear as a couple of years ago I wouldn't buy it, it was so horrible and this year there are some gems. I finally got the AA disco pants with the help of a nice little 10% ASOS discount code I found flying around the internet. They cost me £63 and I still feel bad about spending that much on one item but they are worth it! They fit beautifully and I love the fabric of them. I have noticed they are pretty thick so good for the colder months!

You may have noticed I have changed my blog name and had a bit of a blog makeover. I got bored of Studs & Lace and thought something a bit more simple would be better.

Yesterday I got the amazing khaki jacket with leather sleeves from Primark for a bargain £25. Its gorgeous, expect to see it in an outfit post very soon!

Rust

Blouse - Primark
Waistcoat - Primark (DIY)
Jeans - Primark
Belt - ASOS
Boots - Tesco (old)
Hat - Dorothy Perkins
Bolo Tie - River Island

Hello guys, I'm back! Finally got myself sorted at my new house and can now do outfit posts again! I've missed blogging and all you lovely followers! Hope you're all doing well. I shall catch up on all your blogs very soon.

I picked up this lovely blouse for £5 in Primark over the Summer, it's the perfect colour for my favourite season, and goes nicely with my beloved hat (which looks a lot darker than it is on these photos). This blouse comes in so many different colours so it's worth checking out Primark, they sometimes reduce them to £5 but they are mainly £10 which is still a good price. I'm so happy that Autumn is finally here, I love this time of year, people think I'm crazy but it's so beautiful and I love the cold weather, chunky jumpers and nights in with the fire on!!

I'm gonna be renaming my blog soon I think, getting a bit boring of 'Studs and Lace' now and a little redesign is needed too so watch this space!

Have a nice week everyone!

Passion For Fashion Competition.

I came across this competition from Money Supermarket and thought I'd give it a go. Basically the idea is to come up with 5 different outfits for 5 different occasions...Casual, Office, First Date, Outdoors and Party for under £200 each and explain why you chose the pieces. The overall winner will get £1000 and an iPad 3 with 5 other winners getting £200 each. Really great prizes and I really enjoyed putting this blog post together despite sitting here for hours finding the items! Check out the competition yourself here. Which is your favourite?!

Jacket - Primark £25
Boots - Topshop £45
Jumper - Topshop £26
Jeans - Topshop £38
Bag - New Look £14.99
Necklace - Miss Selfridge £10
Bracelet - Miss Selfridge £4
TOTAL £162.99

I love the leather sleeves trend right now and this lovely khaki jacket from Primark is such a bargain and very in with the army trend for this season. I'd team it with a nice knit jumper like this one from Topshop for some extra warmth and a trusty pair of black skinny jeans. I think a good pair of jeans is something great to invest in as they are something you can wear alot. I adore these boots from Topshop, they would go with anything so are a good investment piece for Autumn/Winter and add a bit of glam to a casual outfit. To finish off this look I'd add a black leather satchel and some jewellery. I'd wear this outfit to go shopping or to lunch with friends. This entire outfit comes in way under £200 which I think is fantastic. You can always find a few discount codes flying around the internet too and of course if you're a student you can get discount in quite a few shops, Topshop being one of them.

Shoes - Topshop £50
Dress - New Look £16.99
Watch - River Island £25
Bag - ALDO @ ASOS £45
Jacket - River Island £60
TOTAL £196.99

I've never worked in an office but this is what I'd wear if I did. This dress is a bargain at £16.99 and a very flattering item that you could wear in many different ways. I'd team this dress with a lovely jacket like this one from River Island which is quite expensive but just sets off the outfit perfectly and with the dress being so cheap you can get away with a few extra pennies! A statement jacket you'd wear a lot is something I wouldn't mind paying a little bit extra for. I'd go for a pair of ankle boots like these from Topshop with a statement toe for a bit of extra glam. For the office I'd expect you may need quite a big bag, maybe one to fit in your laptop and lots of paper work so I think this one from ALDO is perfect. I'd expect you may also need a watch so you can count down the minutes to home time right?! This one from River Island is £25 and has a touch of Michael Kors to it and goes nicely with the grey tones of the jacket. I think this outfit is the perfect balance between professional and on trend.

Dress - Topshop £26
Tights - Topshop £6
Boots - H&M £24.99
Jacket - River Island £60
Rings - H&M £2.99
Bag - H&M £24.99
Headband - Dorothy Perkins £5
Necklace - Dorothy Perkins £10
TOTAL £159.97

I have never been on a 'first date' as such despite having a boyfriend of 4 years! I expect on a first date you'd want to make a good impression. I guess it depends where you're going as well but I'd say this outfit is more of a dinner and drinks outfit than a cinema date outfit. I went for this lovely magenta dress from Topshop which at £26 is a good price for a Topshop dress. I love berry shades for Autumn/Winter and they are very on trend this season. With it being Winter I would add a coat like this one from River Island and wear black opaque tights to keep warm! I'm a big fan of ankle boots so I'd wear these lovely ones from H&M which are a brilliant price. I'd finish this outfit off with some silver jewellery, a cute headband and a black bag. I think this outfit is dressed up without looking like you've made loads of effort and is classy and on trend.

Disco Pants - GlamorousUK £29.99
Blouse - River Island £40
Shoes - Topshop £65
Rings - Topshop £8.50
Bag - New Look £19.99
Bracelet - Miss Selfridge £8.50
TOTAL £171.98

As soon as I saw this category I knew I was going to go for Disco Pants. I'm totally in love with them at the moment. These are of course similar to the American Apparel ones for a fraction of the price and are perfect for a party. Disco Pants are everywhere at the moment, everyone wants a pair! I'd go for a sheer blouse tucked in to show off the high waist of the trousers or you could wear it tucked out to cover up your bum! I fell in love with these gorgeous glitter shoes from Topshop so I had to include them and then I found the clutch bag with the same kind of colours, perfect! I would go for a few pieces of jewellery to finish off this look, I love silver and there's alot of gothic pieces around for the Winter which I also love. Jewellery can really add to an outfit. I would definitely wear this outfit to a party this Christmas, just need a party to go to now!

Jeans - Miss Selfridge £36
Coat - Dorothy Perkins £65
Jumper - H&M £14.99
Boots - H&M £29.99
Hat - H&M £3.99
Snood - H&M £7.99
Bag - eBay £11.99
Umbrella - River Island £15
TOTAL £184.95

I'm a Winter girl, I totally love the cold, the frost, snow, and woolly jumpers! I love walking my dog in the cold weather and I also spend a lot of time shooting on location in the Winter (I'm a photographer!) and I think this would be a perfect outdoors outfit for this season. The coat is bang on trend with the leather accents on the pockets and collar, it's a lovely length and £65 is a good price for a coat that will hopefully last you a few years. Metallic is another new trend so this glittery jumper from H&M is perfect and a bargain at £14.99. I love a dark outfit with coloured accessories esp berry shades in the Winter. I think these boots are perfect for winter, flat but a tiny heel and chunky, which I love. These would be fab for standing around in the cold on a shoot or walking the dog. I would always wear a beanie in the Winter when I'm outside, perfect for keeping your ears warm and your hair from getting in a mess. I'd wear a matching snood or scarf and probably gloves too. Going back to my other love of boho things, this tassel bag is gorgeous and only £11.99 on eBay!
